“My father Umberto, was given home-made Limoncello from a dear family friend called Teresa. Teresa made an excellent Limoncello and everyone in the family enjoyed drinking it, but Teresa only produced enough for family and close friends.”
This gave me the idea that Limoncello should be produced commercially, but maintaining the cottage, craft-style product was the key to delivering a perfect mass-produced product.
I consulted many industry connections but most believed that due to the labour intensity of the product it was not cost effective to produce. The cost was never the prime objective, it was the taste and the enjoyment that those who tasted it continued to express.
So many years later Don Giovanni is here. Our production line is small so that we can maintain the authentic taste of Italy and the high quality of the product. So supplies are limited.
